Adding layouts to the Divi Cloud
There are 3 ways to add your layouts to the Divi Cloud.
- Save from the Visual Builder
- Sync from your Divi Library
- Upload directly
You are able to save your layouts directly from your page or post using the Visual Builder, sync layouts from your local Divi library, or upload layout directly to the Divi Cloud. Once added they are acessible from any website that is logged into your Elegant Themes account.
To add layouts to the Divi Cloud via the Visual Builder you can right click on any Divi section, row, or module and select to “Save To Divi Cloud”. This will launch a popup window to save the layout. You will then be able to give the layout a name and assign an existing or add a new category and/or tags.
To add layouts to the Divi Cloud via the local Divi Library you need to launch the Divi Library in your Divi Builder by clicking on the purple + icon at the bottom of the screen. From here you can click on the tab for “Your Saved Layouts” which will show you both layouts from the website you are working on and that are already in the Divi Cloud.
If you want to add a local layout (only accessible on the website you are working on) to the Divi Cloud (accessible anywhere) then you will need to hover over the layout and click on the grey cloud icon. It will then turn blue to indicate it has been added to the Divi Cloud.
To add layouts to the Divi Cloud via the file importer you need to ldrag-and-drop your JSON files into the Divi Builder. This will launch an import window where you can select to Save To Divi Cloud.
You can add a single JSON file that contains multiple Divi layouts that will then bulk-upload to the Divi Cloud.
Accessing layouts from the Divi Cloud
Once your layout are added to your Divi Cloud account you can access them from any Divi website.
- In the Visual Builder click on the purple circular + icon to the left of the screen to open your Layouts window
- Click on the blue “Sign In To Divi Cloud” button in the top right and use your Elegant Themes username and password to log into your account.
- Select the “Your Saved Layouts” tab at the top of the window and you will see all of your layouts from the current installation you are working on and those in the Divi Cloud.
- Use the checkboxes, dropdowns and search box to filter, search, and manage your layouts. To view only your Divi Cloud layouts click in the “My Divi Cloud” checkbox on the left and it will filter only your cloud layouts.
Automatic screenshots of layouts
When you save new layouts to the Divi Cloud a thumbnail image is automatically generated.
This is an essential feature that allows your to visually identify each layout in your cloud library. Without this feature this whole system would be a lot less efficient.
Currently you do need to refresh the page to see the screenshots rather than the Generating Screenshot placeholder image, but this is a small issue that the team at Elegan Themes will fix up in a future update so be sure to check the Divi Cahngelog regularly.
Managing layouts in the Divi Cloud
Assuming you pay for the premium Divi Cloud service you may well end up with hundreds of layouts and other asset types in the future. To make it easy to manage your layouts there is a category and tag system just like you are used to seeing on blog posts. Each layout can be assigned categories and tags to help you find them when required.
There are a number of options to manage the Divi Cloud items and the Divi layouts included within Divi which will make using layouts faster and easier;
- Import & Export Layouts
- Edit Layouts
- Preview Layouts
- Rename, Recategorize, Retag
- Manage Categories
- Manage Tags (Folders)
- Favorite Items
- Duplicate
- Delete & Restore
- Save To Cloud
- Import To Cloud
- Search, Filter & Sort

Final Thoughts
Divi Coud is a great option if you are building websites for a living but not really too much use if you are only building 1 or 2 as a DIY’er.
For agencies and teams, the feature will be a huge time saver and allow a team of developers to have easy access to all the assets they need to build a website, especially once the ability to add pluigns, theme options and so on is included.
Perhaps as this feature and its future updates benefit agencies and developers so much, it could be a reason to increase the pricing for people using Divi on multiple websites. The unlimited licensing currently on offer really is a steal for agencies!
DIVI Cloud is excellent! And 60USD/year is a very good pricing. Have been using it since day one and loving it. But now that I am importing various layout to the cloud from various websites, I need a way to organize it better. Otherwise it is a mess. So here are a few suggestions! 1. Please allow to browse cloud from a separate full page interface, while not logged into any site, but logged into the cloud. 2. Please allow to rename / change category / tags etc. from the file browser it self without having to edit the layout.… Read more »
Some good points here. I saw this was from one of the Divi FB groups so hopefully one of the ET staff see it and pass onto the devs 🙂
Thanks for the suggestions! Regarding:
2. You can do this by right clicking on any layout in your list, or by clicking the triple dot icon next to the layout’s name.
3. Instead of deleting a category and then switching those layouts to a new category, you can simply rename any existing category. When editing categories, click the category name and start typing to change its name.
I’ second Kousik’s suggestion for a dedicated page to manage library/cloud items.. A submenu page under the Divi menu. It’d be useful to not have to launch a builder just to manage cloud storage.
Additionally- as an Extra theme user- very much hope there are plans to integrate Extra’s Category Builder/modules into the Cloud Library features!
As one can create archive/category pages within the Theme Builder.. Why aren’t the Extra category modules available there?
i think that ET has been hoping that people will loose interest in using Extra for a while now… it was developed before they knew the success of Divi.
I want to re-use sections and rows (not entire layouts) across multiple sites. All of the instructions I see on Divi Cloud assume layouts. How do I use it for sections? I have saved sections to the cloud, but I can’t access them on other sites. How do I do that?
you need to load them into the places they fit. so a layout section will go anywhere, but a row must be loaded into a section.
